On 13 April the Line 3 monorail ran under its own power for the first time, from the depot to Ciudad del Futuro station in Panamá Oeste. Metro de Panamá announced the milestone.

The first phase is 25 km and 11 stations, from Albrook through Arraiján and Nuevo Chorrillo to Ciudad del Futuro. Passenger service is expected in 2028.
